Electronic Sectionalisers
Smarter protection for overhead distribution lines
Insulect’s Electronic Sectionalisers – known as Sectolink – are designed for advanced fault isolation and protection on overhead distribution networks. Used in conjunction with an upstream recloser, Sectolink units replace traditional dropout fuses to offer a more intelligent and coordinated protection scheme. Available in 12/24kV and 36kV configurations, these devices are ideal for SWER, single-phase, and three-phase systems across both low and high current applications.
With programmable trip counts, wide current rating options (from 8A to 400A), and compatibility with standard EDO mounts, Insulect’s Electronic Sectionalisers deliver operational simplicity, network reliability, and custom-fit flexibility for rural and remote installations.

Built for Demanding Overhead Networks
Insulect Electronic Sectionalisers are purpose-built for rugged performance on overhead distribution lines, including SWER, single-phase, and three-phase systems. These units replace traditional dropout fuses and offer smart fault coordination with upstream reclosers—enhancing safety and efficiency for rural and remote networks.
Reliable Protection with Intelligent Timing
Electronic Sectionalisers are designed to trip in coordination with an upstream field recloser. With field-settable operating counts (1, 2, 3 or 4), they intelligently isolate only after confirming transient fault clearance, reducing nuisance outages and equipment damage. Available for pickup current ratings from 8 to 400 amps.
Easy Fit with Existing Infrastructure
Designed to install into the majority of standard single-vented dropout fuse mounts, Insulect's Electronic Sectionalisers provide a simple and effective upgrade path. No major hardware changes required—making it ideal for both retrofit projects and new installations across a variety of current levels.
Smarter Fault Management, Safer Networks
Electronic Sectionalisers eliminate the need for manual fuse replacement and reduce fault response times. By enabling automatic fault isolation and coordination with reclosers, they enhance operational reliability and reduce O&M costs—especially in areas lacking SCADA or remote control access.
Features & Functionality

From pole-top to substation layouts, every electronic sectionaliser is built to your site’s specific needs. Compact design and flexible mounting make integration simple while reducing install time and maintenance burden.

Factory-configured earthing and internal fault logic ensure operator and asset safety. Enhanced design minimises hot-spot formation and arcing risks, making these units ideal for critical environments and fire-prone zones.

Equipped with configurable trip logic and timing curves, Insulect Electronic Sectionalisers enable precision load-break and isolation performance. Built-in intelligence ensures safe disconnection during fault events without the need for SCADA or manual intervention.

Available in 12 kV, 24 kV, and 36 kV—up to 72.5 kV—our electronic sectionalisers support current ratings from 630 A to 1250 A. Designed and tested to IEC 62271.102 / AS 62271.102 standards, they ensure dependable operation across distribution and substation networks.

Why Choose Insulect Electronic Sectionalisers
Insulect’s Electronic Sectionalisers offer an advanced alternative to traditional fuse protection on overhead distribution networks, delivering enhanced fault isolation and operational continuity. Built and tested in Australia to comply with AS and IEC standards, they are engineered for local conditions and utility requirements.
Available in 12/24kV and 36kV ratings, and in SWER, single-phase, or three-phase configurations, these devices work in tandem with upstream reclosers to eliminate transient faults—improving network reliability without the need for manual intervention. The electronic control unit counts recloser operations (field-settable from 1 to 4) before locking out, ensuring only permanent faults result in isolation.
Customers benefit from seamless retrofit compatibility with most standard dropout fuse holders, robust field performance, and minimal maintenance requirements. Whether for rural feeders, constrained pole-top environments, or modern SCADA-enabled networks, Insulect’s sectionaliser range delivers dependable protection and smarter fault management where it matters most.
Designed for safer, smarter protection, Insulect’s Electronic Sectionalisers eliminate manual fuse replacement and reduce operator exposure to faulted lines. Their programmable trip logic ensures only permanent faults are isolated—enhancing crew safety and restoring power faster after transient faults
Engineered from corrosion-resistant materials and sealed electronics, Insulect’s sectionaliser units are built to withstand Australia’s toughest rural and coastal environments. Reliable performance is maintained across temperature extremes, moisture, dust, and vibration—ensuring dependable fault isolation in the field.
Supporting SCADA-enabled networks and recloser coordination, our Electronic Sectionalisers are field-programmable and upgrade-ready. With flexible pickup settings (8–400 A) and pole-compatible form factors, they seamlessly integrate with your grid’s evolving automation and resilience strategies.
