Project Overview

The 300 MW Victorian Big Battery, one of the largest battery storage systems in the world, supports grid stability and renewable energy integration across Victoria. As part of the project’s advanced electrical infrastructure, Insulect supplied custom-manufactured transformer insulation kits and transformer measurement and protection devices, ensuring reliable and safe transformer performance within this critical energy asset.

Challenge

Battery storage systems operate under demanding electrical conditions, with frequent load changes, high fault levels, and the need for continuous availability. For the Victorian Big Battery, transformer reliability was essential, as any insulation failure or undetected fault could compromise grid stability and asset performance.
