Application Overview
Qualitrol Bushing Monitoring is designed for online, real‑time assessment of high‑voltage transformer bushings. The system supports monitoring of up to six bushing taps per module and integrates seamlessly into QTMS for complete asset health visibility. It is suitable for transmission, distribution and industrial transformers, and can be deployed across single‑asset or fleet‑level monitoring structures through SmartSUB enterprise software.

Features & Functionality

The system continuously measures bushing capacitance and tan delta, providing early warning of insulation deterioration or contamination. Alarm thresholds can be easily configured for each parameter.

Leakage current and associated phase differences are monitored with high precision, enabling detection of insulation imbalance between phases and progressive aging issues.

Monitoring Capability
Each module monitors up to six bushings, including temperature and reference voltage inputs, making it suitable for three‑phase and multi‑phase transformer configurations.

Into QTMS
All bushing data is incorporated into the QTMS platform, combining it with data from DGA, PD, LTC, cooling and fiber optic sensors. This provides a unified and complete view of transformer health.
