With solar and renewable power projected to slash energy costs, it’s no secret that solar energy is on the rise. It appears a tidal wave of new energy supply is due to hit the grid in coming years and integration of this energy into the existing grid is a hot topic! Designated speakers and panellists include a number of remarkable women such as Fiona Orton of TransGrid, Bronte Nixon of WSP, Sonja Basson of Aurecon and Sally Torgoman of PWC.
Register for Rainer Korte’s presentation to #EESA on the proposed 330 kilovolt (kV) SA/NSW interconnector aka Project #EnergyConnect to get an overview of the above-ground transmission line project and its current status. SA Energy Minister Dan van Holst Pellekaan is quoted as saying, "We need to become part of the loop, so interconnection between South Australia and New South Wales would give us much greater flexibility to share demand and supply with two states rather than just one.” (Map image from the ElectraNet project resources factsheet)
This year’s TechCon 2019 looks to be a dynamic one with the theme of ‘LIFE-MANAGEMENT OF HV AND MV POWER EQUIPMENT’. Topics to be presented range ‘from practical case studies to the latest research on asset management strategies for aging electrical grid infrastructure.’ With power and distribution transformers acknowledged as key components requiring asset management strategies in our electrical industry, it is fitting that Midel natural ester transformer fluids are co-sponsors of the event.
Cigre presents an interactive workshop on transformer management with a focus on tapchangers. The event programme lists topics for attendees to consider so they can add input to the planned panel discussions and bring their own questions.
“Don’t miss your chance to hear from the experts as they explore the challenges and opportunities of distributed energy resource optimisation including customer equity, incentivisation policy, electric vehicles, regulatory frameworks, and distribution system operator design.” (Energy Networks Australia)
