Cited as a means to ‘unlock the vast potential of renewable energy’, Pumped Storage Hydropower is current news and was highlighted by governmental approval of Genex Power’s planned 250MW Kidston Pumped Storage Hydro Project.
Genex’s Simon Kidston will be the Keynote speaker at the upcoming Engineer’s Australia event in Brisbane. Integrated with the Kidston 270MW Solar Project, the project will utilise an abandoned gold mine for the purpose of energy storage in a ‘world first’ to form part of the Kidston Renewable Energy Hub.
“Acting as a ‘battery’ for wind and solar generation, pumped hydro facilities can generate quick and sustainable power by using the earth’s natural formations - along with a little bit of engineering ingenuity.”
Co-hosted by McDonnell Dowell, related industry experts make up the expert panel of this free event.
